Statement of intent

individual planning applications

Whilst the main aim of the Goffs Oak Community Association (GOCA) is to preserve the rural nature of Goffs Oak, we are asked on a regular basis to support objections to individual planning applications.  GOCA as an Association is  not  able to comment on such applications.  What we can do is to advise how to comment and/or to object to building applications.  We can help by ‘signposting’ and/or utilising resources made available by such organisations such as CPRE Herts, Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust, and also the Open Space Society.    On request, we can comment stating our main aims to support  preservation of the rural nature of Goffs Oak and how further building may impact on protection and the effects of removing from Green Belt Land.

We actively encourage our members to make their views known to the Borough of Broxbourne Council and on how to gain support in their local area.   Overall, we continue to seek the views of our members and  wherever possible we do as much as possible to represent our members’ concerns.  For this reason, we  do comment on large scale developments  In the last 5 years, this has consisted mainly as part of the Emerging Local Plan 2016-2033.
