With less than 20 places for public parking at the car park in Goffs Oak, the GOCA has discovered that the Borough of Broxbourne Council is planning to charge for the first hours parking. The Council is working on an Improvement Plan for Goffs Oak. Rather than making drivers park on the road side causing congestion, the Council should be expanding on the parking facilities.
This parking is essential for locals to use the health facilities including the GP practice, pharmacy, the Dentist and Chiropodist. Also to use the Community Library, Methodist Church, the Village Hall and local shops.
Copies of the petition found in Library, G P practice. Garage.and dry cleaners. Please add and sign the petition opposing removing the first hours free parking.
We have also written to Councillor David Holliday, who is the Council member for the environment in Broxbourne and a leading figure for the recent car parking reviews with our concerns.
Perhaps this is BoB’s idea to encourage people to walk there!
