Update from the group of The Parents of Woodside School campaigning against Woodside becoming a Multi-Academic Trust.
The decision was made on 28th January 2019 by the Governing Body of Woodside Primary school to become part of a Mulit-academy Trust under Ivy Learning Trust. A group of parents oppose the school coming part of a Mult-Academic Trust and believe the consultation was flawed. For this reason, have sought legal advice. A pre-action letter has been sent to the school asking for a response by 18th April 2019. The letter has been copied to Hertfordshire County Council, Ivy Learning Trust and the Secretary of State for Education. The group of parents are keen to point out, are not anti-academy and believe with its good OFSTED reports it is a school with wonderful opportunities for our children and staff.
To raise funds to support the campaign, a Go Funding page has been set up for Goffs Oak locals can contribute. Gofundme.com/hands-off-woodside-primary-school
So come along to the next public meeting on 24 April 2019, 18:30hrs at Goffs Oak Village Hall, Goff’s Lane, Goffs Oak and find out why we are legally challenging the consultation process. All are welcome, including parents, residents, Councillors and Governors. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and answers.
