The Great British Spring Clean is due to take place on the 1st to 3rd March 2019. Broxbourne Council will be holding a litter pick on Saturday 2nd March within the Borough of Broxbourne. Exact sites to be advised at a later date, however we are hoping for a litter pick to be in Goff’s Oak. What we need is a few volunteers. Why don’t you join some of the members of GOCA and help out for a couple of hours? Take your family and friends. It is taking place between 1000 and 1200hrs. It is amazing how much can be collected in 2 hours when lots of help.
We have been advised by Broxbourne Council that full support will be given with the necessary ‘props’ for the day and all volunteers should register by emailing streetcleansing@broxbourne.gov.uk. Don’t forget to put forward Goffs Oak as the chosen area. Then we can all look forward to an even cleaner environment free of tins and plastic.
By the way, children in recognised groups such as schools, Brownies, scouts, and activity groups are also encouraged and I am sure will be well looked after on the day.
PS. News is out that Newgatestreet Road are having their ditches cleaned in February. Lets watch this space!
