What would we like as in public transport?

As we are all aware, affordable public transport in Goffs Oak is not great. We have the local bus service. Sometimes we have a double decker bus, with not many passengers especially during certain times of the day and sometimes we have nothing. What we desperately need is a modern and regular form of transport.

It is worth noting, in Cheshunt, Delamare Road site with the proposed development of of 1800 dwellings, the developers have promised a 242 bus service every 30 minutes starting the first day an apartment is occupied. That sounds like a really good ‘carrot’ and would benefit Goffs Oak if really happens.

Perhaps we need to a more modern form of transport. In South London, a trial is being started with an Uber style approach. Another idea, would be having a small mini bus going up and down Cuffley Hill with a ‘Hail and stop’ approach. Or book a stop using an app on you smart phone.

It is not all about maintaining the older route of the 242. With the disappearance of the C1 bus and with new homes popping up, why are we not saying now what routes need to be covered. The Borough of Broxbourne Emerging Plan may be over several years but we need to say now, how and where we want our new routes for public use. Speak up and let us know your comments and thoughts.
